Playing Catch Up - Primary Children's Hospital - November 2010

On Tuesday night Ethan started struggling to breathe, so Wednesday morning we took him to the ER at Primary Children's Hospital. He had strider breathing (inflammation on the airway) and had a croup cough with a fever. They gave him Epinephrine and a steroid to help reduce the inflammation and help him breathe. They did some blood work to make sure the the virus wasn't attacking anything else since he had a fever and was less than 90 days old. All the tests came back showing no other problems. He started eating again and didn't have to have an IV. It was a rough day and a half, but Thursday everything checked out okay and after a second dose of the steroid we were able to go home and enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with the Nye extended family (my Mom's family). We were certainly glad it wasn't any worse than it was, but it was a stressful holiday week.
