Once upon a time, yesterday morning in fact, there was a family by the name of Biles. There was the Daddy, the Mommy, the toddler, and the infant. The infant was making everyone's sleep schedule all crazy. Mommy was tired, Daddy was tired, and the toddler thought that every time he heard the baby cry he was supposed to get up and join the "party" in Mommy and Daddy's bedroom. Because he was doing this he started waking up even when the infant wasn't crying.
On this particular occasion, after a LONG night of baby and toddler needs, the toddler arrived in Mommy and Daddy's room for the fourth time of the night (none of which where when the infant was awake). With Daddy and the infant sleeping, a very tired Mommy recognized that the toddler had climbed onto the bed between her and the bassinet, but was asleep again quicker than a lightening strike, and therefore didn't send the toddler back to his own bed.
Daddy Biles had to go to work in the morning, and as per routine, his alarm clock went off at 6AM. Not being accustom to this alarm, the toddler was startled and fell off the bed wedging himself between the bed and the bassinet frame. What a way to wake up!
You may think that that would have taught this toddler that sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's bed isn't the greatest idea - but he tried again the following night. This time Mommy was awake enough to turn him right back around and send him to his own bed.
The joys of adjusting to a family of four. At least we got a great laugh out of Cooper falling off the bed.
